Contact your teacher to introduce who the Class Parents are
- template available here
Once the list is final, introduce yourselves as Class Parents by emailing the class
- intro letter template

COMPLETE your class list using the Genesis Class List (sent to you via Google Sheets) Ask teacher for # of students to determine how many are missing

1. 1. Find info for missing students PTO directory
  2. Ask your child
  3. Check the “unofficial spreadsheets” that were circulated by parents before start of school
  4. Bring contact info forms to Back-to-School Night

BEFORE sharing your class list, please follow these steps:

Create a new version minus the PTO + budget info (in Google Sheets)
- Right-click the sheet name at the bottom of the spreadsheet
- Select “Copy to” from the menu
- Select “New spreadsheet”
- A pop-up will appear -> Click “Open spreadsheet” to view the copied spreadsheet
Then, remove the PTO info + Rename:
- Delete column K “Who should be contacted for class and PTO information/events?”
- If anyone asked not to be contacted by the PTO, please remove their email and phone number from the list
- Rename the file “[insert teacher name] Class List Shared 2024-25”
Update permissions + share with class
- Click the “Share” button in the top right corner
- Enter the email addresses of parents to share with
- Choose the access level “Viewer”
- Click “Send”
Alternatively, you can copy the share link to the spreadsheet and email it out to your class
Send your completed list back to Meg & Erin

CLASS GROUP TEXT

For younger classes, it’s helpful to have a group text, especially for timely reminders and to coordinate class playground get-togethers, etc.
Ask parents who’d like to opt-in and/or opt-out

PTO Dues & Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW)

Follow the instructions in the Intro Email to Parents to request the PTO dues.
- Note: the easiest way to get class dues is to have them Venmo’ed to you. You can also have parents send cash or check made out to “cash” in an envelope with their student to the homeroom teacher. The teacher will then give it to your student to bring home.
Reach out twice about dues. If you don’t get them - don’t worry.

- Please wait until all your class dues are collected so we can get a complete transfer rather than piecemeal.
- Label the Venmo with your “Grade-Class, TAW Dues”. For example, “2-Kubala, TAW Dues”

We will send out reminders to Venmo us your TAW dues as well as the contact spreadsheet for the PTO’s internal directory.
